What a lot can happen in a year!

January - Becoming a published author

On 28th January 2019, The Adventurers and the Cursed Castle went live, fulfilling my lifelong dream of being a published author! Since then, readers have purchased the book from all over the world, including the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, India, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Spain.

March - First book event

In March I enjoyed my first school visit at Kemsing Primary School in Kent, running an assembly and creative writing workshops for Key Stage 2 students. I've also had fun at Sevenoaks Library delivering two workshops as well as attending book shows in the south of Engand. I am planning to run more events for children in 2020.

June - The sequel

On 11th June 2019 The Adventurers and The Temple of Treasure landed! With another beautiful cover design by Andrew Smith. Seeing my stories come to life through his artwork is always a highlight for me in the publishing process.

July - WHSmith

On 20th July 2019 I was lucky enough to attend one of my biggest events of my writing career to date, a book signing event at WHSmith in Bluewater. It was wonderful to meet so many readers and it was my biggest book sales day of 2019. I'm looking forward to being back in WHSmith stores next year!

December - Finishing Book 3 and Christmas Fun

The last part of this year has been focused on finishing the first draft of The Adventurers and the City of Secrets, which will be with my editor Amanda in early January. I also squeezed in a couple of fun Christmas events, including this one (pictured) at Otford Primary School on 7th December!

So that was 2019 - two books, thousands of readers in over ten countries and a lot of fun! THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me in my writing journey this year, it means a lot to me. I have a long way to go and there are some exciting things in the pipeline for 2020 that I can't wait to share with you. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas break and best wishes to you all as we enter the next decade!

Happy Adventuring,

Jemma xx
